Vijay Gupta Architects (VGA) was founded in 1964 by Mr Vijay Gupta and his wife, Mrs Sushma Gupta, delivering well-thought designs that are user-centric, time and cost-efficient. Over the next few decades, Mr Gupta designed many schools, institutions and campuses across the country, establishing a pan-India built footprint with diverse works across varied scales and typologies in both public and private sectors. With its strong foothold in educational and healthcare projects and a diverse portfolio supported by commercial, residential and public building projects, VGA is committed to making well-designed spaces accessible to all.

Building on the values and ideologies fostered by Mr Gupta, the firm is now helmed by four Partners – Saurabh Gupta, Alpana Gupta, Arti Gugnani and Akanksha Gupta. The firm is driven by its fervour to design user-oriented spaces that positively impact the built environment. We assimilate international standards/benchmarks with respect for our legacy, environments and local contexts to create future-ready designs that showcase a deep affinity for sustainability. Sustainability to us means longevity, which translates into optimising services, building technology, and engineering for holistic solutions that prioritise functionality, flexibility and the ever-evolving future needs of the people we design for.

Our practice is based on an iterative process of evolving through design, and is thus self-conscious of the mark we leave on the built environment. We believe that a constant process of re-evaluation brings out the best results for every project, working with the constraints to think out pragmatic and innovative designs which are efficient, cost-sensitive and timely.

VGA has received numerous awards and accolades, including the Indian Building Council Award for Excellence in Built Environment (Institutional) and WADE ASIA Awards 2023 Public Building Category for Euro School in Bengaluru, 3rd Realty+ Women Icon Conclave & Awards, Women Achievers in Sustainability 2023-24 and Kyoorius Design Awards 2023 in Architecture (Civic Building) for Euro School, Bannerghatta, Bengaluru. Additionally, Saurabh Gupta has been recognized by organisations such as the Dezeen Awards, where his work on Euro School was long-listed in the Education Project category.
